If you are a young person aged 18-24 and looking for full-time employment, our dedicated and experienced youth employment advisers are here to provide the support you need including:

  • tailored information, advice, and guidance, which is based on your interests and aspirations, but also will also expose you to possibilities within growth sectors for higher paid jobs and sustainable careers. Priority sectors include:
    • creative digital/ digital tech
    • healthcare/ health & social care
    • construction
    • green jobs of the future
  • help to create your own plan to get into, and stay in, employment
  • access to ring-fenced training and career development opportunities within the council and other employers, including quality work experience placements and traineeships
  • ongoing progress reviews throughout your employment search journey
  • continued in-work support for a minimum of 6 months

Our response to COVID-19


In response to the Covid-19 crisis Haringey Works is also collaborating with providers across the borough and beyond to ensure that no opportunity is missed.

This work includes:

  • preparation for 6-month quality Kickstart placements in collaboration with local employers, gateway organisations and the Jobcentre to ensure you get a fair shot at the opportunities that fit you
  • access to entrepreneurial skills and training if you would like to run your own business
  • access to relevant provision for wellness and mentoring support.

Youth at Risk


Youth at Risk is commissioned by the Haringey Community Safety Team, under the wider Mayor of London’s VRU pan-London programme; the aim is identifying & engaging young people aged 18-24 considered ‘at risk’ :

  • criminality
  • NEET (Not in Education or Employment Training)
  • negative peer group/gang affiliation
  • previous history of offending
  • substance misuse related risk
  • anti-social behaviour
  • illegal profiteering
  • victim/perpetrator of violent crime
  • county lines
  • sexual exploitation

Haringey Works provide specialist, person-centred employment support to help Youth at Risk into relevant work or training.

Care leaver


The Employment Advisor for Care Leavers at offers a tailored service for 18-24-year-olds who are interested in finding employment/apprenticeships.

The Employment Advisor for Care Leavers works closely with Young Adult Service and provides the following support:

Stage 1:

  • Career conversations
  • CV analysis - drafting or improvement
  • 1:1 meetings with the Employment Advisor, at least fortnightly

The Employment Advisor will:

  • Share appropriate job/apprenticeship opportunities
  • Research job market for suitable roles
  • Conduct mock interviews where required
  • Assist YP in being interview ready via referral to appropriate agency
  • Conduct Better off Calculations to ensure job/apprenticeship opportunity is financially viable
  • Support YP to look at Access to Work, if required

Stage 2:

The Employment Advisor will offer:

  • Suitable training and development workshops
  • Suitable information sessions and employer introduction sessions

Stage 3:

In Work Support for 6 months to ensure successful workplace navigation, understanding of business culture and any further work-related issues YP requires assistance with.
